CRC’s CSI

CSI at Cosumnes River College

By: Jason Sawchuck, CSI Student President Cosumnes River College

This year, CSI has evolved into the Department of Environmental Design’s most prominent club. Not only has membership increased in the architectural division, but also CSI has expanded to include the past overlooked Construction Management division. The club, with generous support from CSI Sacto, has been able to participate in chapter meetings, lectures, and building tours. Our tour for the month of November was DPR Construction’s LEED certified office building in Natomas. I have found the Sacramento chapter to be an environment of warmth and welcome. Student involvement is highly encouraged and many members have offered to give tours, lectures, or even jobs to students. As CSI CRC’s student president, I look forward o the New Year with great aspirations and motivation. I would like to thank the Sacramento chapter for helping to further the education of our students outside of the classroom. CSI’s support has opened up new horizons of understanding of what architecture, construction, and engineering are, way beyond the textbook.
