Ronald G. Folsom Memorial Scholarship

The Ronald G. Folsom Scholarship was created in the memory of one of the most colorful members of Sacramento Chapter CSI. Mr. Folsom was an admired and loved Architect member of the chapter who provided over three decades of service to the Chapter, Region and Institute. He served on nearly every Chapter committee and at most every officer level becoming President in 1989. He also served the Region as Treasurer. Ron had become known as the founder of the Chapter, Region and Institute golf tournaments, generating so much support for the event nationally it inspired a yearly national newsletter exclusively for the golf tournament and ultimately became an annual component of the Institute Convention. At the local level, Ron was instrumental in establishing our Chapter golf event as an annual social function where contractors, architects, product representatives and engineers could all come together for fun and much frivolity. He was also a recipient of the Chapter’s Tony Shira Award. The legacy Ron created is maintained annually through the Ronald G. Folsom Memorial Golf Tournament. Net proceeds from the event provide the funding for this scholarship.
